Warts

Warts (also known as verruca), are common growths caused by the human papillomavirus. They are contagious when in contact with the skin of an infected person. There are many different types of human papillomavirus. Most commonly, people get warts on their hands and feet and affects all ages. People can also contract genital warts, and genital warts are a type of sexually transmitted disease. Treatment options depends on the type of warts and location, and includes cryotherapy, cantharidin, topical creams, surgery, pulsed dye laser, and intralesional injection.
